Participating hashers are invited to contribute to the defense fund for the two New Haven hashers who are charged with "first degree disturbing the peace," a felony, for laying a flour trail across an IKEA parking lot last Thursday. IKEA panicked, evacuated their store and called in a Hazmat team.

'The Defense fund is shaping up somewhat "hash-style". By that, I mean that we are collecting whatever is contributed and will present it personally when Dr. Gonad is back in DC shortly before their court date. He will be at our hash that day (Sept. 8). Not terribly organized, but then nothing much is... Captain Crunch is the fund-holder and is above approach, should anyone need to ask. And it has been suggested that any funds left after the defense (if any) will be donated to the charity that Dr. G supported recently, when he and several other doctor's provided opthamalogic care for children in 3rd world areas.'
